Cereal box ornaments part I

So in my last post I created a mixed media Christmas piece out of the side of a cereal box. (see here for that post:  http://chartherapy.blogspot.com/2012/12/cereal-box-christmas-art.html )
Now we are going to use some smaller pieces to create cereal box ornaments.  These were SUPER easy and super fun to make!

Started this piece out as just a small piece of the cereal box...

Added a scrap piece of musical note paper - mod podged it on :)

Decided I didn't like it horizontally - flipped it to vertical.  Added hole to the top for some ribbon and then  added my gesso to prep for paint :)

Washi tape again...I just love this stuff - adds so much to the piece with little work

Nice huh?  Now, lets add paint and stamps...

Lovin' it!  Lets paint some details to the hearts and the year

:)

I painted each heart with a beautiful deep red, added some white highlights and white dots and finished them with some word stickers

Finished the piece with some distress ink around the edges to give it an aged look...

Done!  Add some ribbon and hang from your tree!!

Another personal gift for the kiddos to make, sign, put the date on - the ideas are ENDLESS.  Have fun!  Be Creative!  Be MESSY and just let go and be inspired :)
