Sixteen canvases...

So I ordered all of these 6"x6" canvases from Dick Blick mostly because they were on sale and were cheap and I always love a good sale...ESPECIALLY on art supplies.

As I was looking at them I started thinking what if I painted each of these with a similar theme yet each was somewhat unique (makes sense...right?) and then put them together into one LARGE canvas.  Whammo, Sixteen Canvases was born.

Why sixteen?  Well, that's how many I just happen to have on hand AND its an even number so it will be easier to put them together into a large canvas...whether its 4 x 4  or 2 x 8...just easier :)

I also purchased my first set of Golden Acrylics...I know, I know - WHY has it taken me so long?!  Well, I was happy with my el cheapo acrylics from Hobby Lobby and have quite a few shades as well. I mean, really, HOW much better could these Golden Acrylics be?

OH. MY. GOODNESS.  They are SO awesome - the vibrancy of their colors is just astounding and the fluid consistency of the paint is just awesome.  I am in love.  Never turning back...again.  I may use the other acrylics in combo with the Golden - but I am sold.  I am a Golden Acrylics fan forever. :)

I currently have eight completed.  Love having to come up with new ideas and get that feeling in my stomach every time I sketch something exciting!

Over the course of the next couple of weeks I will be sharing very short video tutorials of the canvases. I hope to get videos of each one but it all depends on how my little Bloggie video camera holds up (the battery life isn't very good :( )

Here is my first short video tutorial on my first canvas :)
